Your Stolen Car is in The Chop Shop
Thieves stole anything that can be exchange for monetary value for a living. Jewelries, cash, electronic gadgets are the usual targets of thieves for the said items can be easily sold. Cars can also be stolen and sold but the process of selling it may be a lot more different than selling stolen jewelries and gadgets.
Cars must be registered and insured so that it may be legally driven. If anything is not in order like the paperwork, police would notice or suspect that a car is stolen. Buying stolen cars can put you into trouble so beware. Cars have identification numbers with them such as the engine and chassis numbers. These numbers are registered and are traceable.
So, if cars are traceable how come thieves get to sell the cars they stole? Thieves bring the stolen cars into a chop shop. A chop shop is a place where illegal activity of car disassembly is operated. The disassembled car will be sold as parts. Usually, stolen cars and its parts are brought to a foreign country and sold. This way the cars will be difficult, if not impossible to track down.
Chop shops disassemble a car carefully to avoid damaging its parts. Choppers work in an organized manner and very efficiently. They have to act fast but accurately. In most cases, chop shops are operated by large syndicates. They have their own thieves on standby and ready contact buyers. Once a buyer orders a car, chop shops will order their thieves to steal cars and then the chopping gets done in the chop shops.
Human Trafficking – The Illegal Human Trade
Human trafficking is a modern day form of slavery and it is illegal. Usually, human trafficking is done for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor. Just like any other illegal trade, human trafficking is a growing illegal industry and is operated worldwide by underground organized crime groups.
Human trafficking is rampant in the poor countries where majority of the people seek to earn a living overseas. Human traffickers will deceive the people of good paying jobs. Oftentimes, people are forced, coerced, or abducted and brought to a foreign land to work as slaves. The victims are commonly transported without legal papers.
Human trafficking and people smuggling are oftentimes thought to be the same. Although both are considered illegal activities, people smuggling is often committed when a person willingly submits himself to be transported to one location to another. However, the transport is considered illegal for legal entry would be denied upon the arrival at the destination country. When a person arrives to his destination he is usually on his own and not forced to any labor.
On the other hand, human trafficking may or may not involve any travel. As long a person or persons are exploited and forced to a labor, it is considered human trafficking. People who are subjected to human trafficking do not have their own free will. They will do as they are told to do and oftentimes women are forced to become sex workers. Human trafficking is a very lucrative illegal industry and authorities must do something to stop this trade.
Scarface (Al Capone)
Al Capone a.k.a Scarface
Who would not know the name Al Capone – the man who ran Chicago with blood and guns? Alphonse Capone was one of the most notorious gangsters in the history of America. Al Capone is known better as Scarface who is too rough in dealing with people.
In 1899, Alphonse Capone was born in Brooklyn. His parents are both Italian immigrants. When Capone was just a kid, he has already shown roughness and had difficulty dealing with authorities. In school on his sixth grade, he beat a female teacher. He left school after the incident and went on to work with low paying jobs.
Known to being rough with people, he killed a man in a heated argument in December 1918. He did not face the charges and instead moved to Chicago in an invitation of his friend John Torrio. At that time, Torrio is the leader of a Chicago gangster and later on made Capone his right hand man.
Torrio owns Chicago clubs and Capone as his right hand man used to beat up drunkards. Capone had his first killing contract from Torrio in 1920. He was ordered to kill Chicago underground boss Big Jim Colosimo. After the killing, Torrio had become the Chicago underground boss.
In 1925, an assassination attempt seriously wounded Torrio and then Capone succeeded Torrio’s place as Chicago underground boss. In 1929, an event known as the Valentine’s Day massacre was ordered by Capone. He ordered to kill Bugs Moran another leader of an underground faction. However, Bugs Moran was not in the group killed by Capone’s men.
Capone got sentenced of tax evasion and was imprisoned for 10 years. Later on his release his physical condition has deteriorated and died on January 25, 1947 of stroke and pneumonia prior to his killing of Eddie O’Hare.
